Choclo was born from the moment our chef, Edgar Orduño, brought the heart of Mexico to Belgium.
In 2018, Edgar arrived for a culinary internship at the prestigious Hertog Jan, and during his stay, he wandered into Kortrijk and met the founders of Kurkumama. From that meeting grew the vision for a place where Latin American flavors could shine brightly, as something new under the sun. 

Passion for craft and respect for tradition runs our kitchen. 
Every dish and cocktail draws from traditional ingredients, recipes, and techniques, allowing us to share the culinary heritage with humble pride. Choclo is a bridge between continents, a culinary adventure into the aromas, textures and flavours of Latin America.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How can I change or cancel my reservation?

    You can modify or cancel your reservation directly through the link in your confirmation email or SMS. If your plans change, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your table to another guest. For same-day changes or cancellations, please call so we can assist you right away.

  • How long does my reservation slot last?

    Tables or bar dining spots reserved for 2–3 guests between 18:00 and 19:30 on busy days or weekends have a fixed dining time of 2 hours. Other reservations are generally available for 2 to 2.5 hours. After this period, we kindly ask that your table or bar seat be released for the next seating. If your spot isn’t reserved for the next shift, you’re very welcome to stay longer. During these busy periods, some tables or bar seats may be double-booked due to high demand. We do our best to manage seating smoothly and appreciate your understanding, ensuring all our guests can enjoy a pleasant and uninterrupted dining experience.

  • Can I choose a specific table (e.g., low table, round table, bar, or high table)?

    We do our best to honor seating preferences. Please mention your request when booking, and we’ll accommodate it whenever possible. If you’ve already made a reservation and forgot to mention your preference, please call and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

  • Can you provide something for a birthday or special occasion?

    Absolutely. We love celebrating special moments with our guests. Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, or any other occasion, just let us know when making your reservation — we’ll make sure to add a personal touch to make it memorable.

  • Is the night still young after dinner?

    If you’re not ready to end the evening just yet, you’re always welcome to stay for a cocktail and a dance at Nude.

  • Do you have vegetarian or vegan options?

    Yes. Our menu always includes thoughtful vegetarian and vegan dishes, prepared with the same creativity and care as the rest of our offerings. Dishes marked with a “V” are vegetarian. We’re also flexible regarding finishing touches and presentation.

  • Can you accommodate allergies (gluten, nuts, lactose, etc.)?

    Yes, we take allergies seriously! Please inform us of any dietary restrictions when booking, so our team can prepare accordingly. You can also check our allergy list in advance by scanning the QR code in the menu of any of our destinations.

  • Can you accommodate one guest who is vegan or vegetarian for the surprise menu, while the other is served meat?

    Of course. We’re happy to tailor the surprise menu to each guest’s preferences or dietary needs. Just let us know in advance.

  • Is there a baby chair?

    Yes, baby chairs are available in each of our destinations. Please mention it in your reservation so we can prepare your table accordingly.

  • Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?

    Yes, all of our destinations are accessible for guests using wheelchairs. If you need extra assistance or space, just let us know when booking.

  • Is the restaurant dog-friendly?

    Friendly, well-behaved dogs are welcome in designated areas. Please mention this in your booking so we can seat you and your best friend comfortably.

  • My gift voucher has just expired. Can I still use it?

    We understand life happens — if you are interested in redeeming an expired gift voucher please reach out. We’ll do our best to accommodate you, depending on the date and circumstances.

  • Can I use the remaining balance on my gift card later?

    Yes. If there’s still credit left on your gift card, you’re welcome to use it for your next visit within the validity period. You can also scan the QR code on your gift card and add it to your Apple Wallet for easy access.

  • Where and when can I buy a physical gift voucher?

    Physical gift vouchers can be purchased on-site in all of our destinations during our opening days, from Tuesday to Saturday, starting at 17:00
